Hey Volks,

This 1954 VW Oval Window Ragtop Bug was a “Build-A-BuG” project that we completed back in 2016 for a good friend Joe. This was a complete body off restoration, one of the best we ever performed. All the panels on the bug are originally from the German car, fenders, hoods, aprons, etc. Painted in the evergreen metallic that we love so much, and finished off with the Oatmeal Tweed interior. He recently upgraded the 36hp engine with the famous top end Judson Supercharger to it. Please see the video below. This is an amazing Bug that has been in Concourses in this area, it is that nice!

Story back from 2015.

One of the nicest Oval Rag projects I have seen. Two years in a row, two ’54 ragtops were found in PA right by Harrisburg. In late 2013 my awesome ’54 rag was found, then in March of 2015 we found this lil gem. Both cars found me! The owners called me up and said “I only want you to buy my bug.”

So PoPs and I took the road trip out to see this lil guy and bought it on the spot. I filmed and documented the whole trip.
RUST FREE IS NOT THE WORD! Talk about staying out of the elements, and in the North East to Boot!

Once we brought the car back to the shop, (all day trip) she was already accounted for. Our good friend Joe R. jumped on this ’54 ragtop for me to build for him. I finally found one just for him!
