Here is another “Build-A-BuG” project we finished on a 1958 VW Beetle Bug Ragtop Sedan for a cool guy Bruce from MA.  Bruce shipped down his own 58 late 2011 and asked to bring her back to all her glory.  But… his 58 was all rotted, and the amount of work needed to get her straight would have taken the car way out of budget.  So we now found him a 58 ragtop that came out of Oregon, great solid car, no cancer to speak of.

The car was painted Diamond Grey from 1958, an awesome color, might be a new fav of mine!

My name is Maurício

I have a bug 1959 and want to paint with gray diamond color L243 would ask you to send me a sample of that color because glasolite no longer manufactures this color, so you can make this color in Brazil

I have a 1959 VW Beetle Bug. I have/want it as close to stock as possible. Where can I find information, pictures, etc to show what the year had when sold?? I find this information difficult to obtain. Any help would be appreciated. I do, very much, like your sight. You do a great service to VW lovers no matter what their year interest might be.

@Volkswagen1959 You can google 1958 VW Beetle, and you will get a bunch of info.  But you can also go to eBay and maybe buy one of the dealer brochures that they had back then or even a glovebox manual.  Also check sites like thesamba.com and browse through their forums on the matter too.

My father and I just purchased a (agave green) 58 bug and are going to be restoring it in the near future. Very nice color choice chris. I am interested to see how this turns out :)

Yes, we are finally jumping on it next week, interior is in, chassis parts are ordered to marry the body down.  I know, taking a while, I do apologize, just real busy here.

I also have a 58 that I'm just about to start restoring. It was a barn find in the Georgia mountains and is in very good unmolested condition with almost no rust and has the semaphores.
