CAR IS COMPLETED!
Got this car in earlier 2011, Joanna has been a fan of our work for a couple years now, she touched base with me in 2010 wanting an oval window ragtop. Well we found one in St. Paul MN with most of the hard work done already.
When we got the car is was already blasted down to metal and gutted, so off to the paint shop it went. She is finished!
Here are some pictures in the gallery below.

@1960vw Not sure, I had these layin around the shop a while. Did you try jbugs?
Hi Chris ! Beautiful car ! My only comment is, why do people opt to add all the accessories, and skimp on the hidden stitching for the seat covers ? After owning both, I know the hidden stitching is by far more comfortable, and worth the little bit extra cost ! Plus, heat seams weren't stock till the 60's. Just saying. Keep up the great work !
@vwsmiths Well this car was set on a fixed budget, so TMI heat seamed interior was 500-700.00 less than going with sewfine or Lenny's West Coast Classics. I never really use TMI anymore as you can see in my past restos. All depends what the customer wants. I love sewfine's stuff, the quality is awesome and she can make anything I want. You are right, hidden stitch feels great on the buttox! =o)
Surprised to find out that they are that much of a difference in price. Still would have forgone all the accessories for better seats. Also, if you are interested- I know a young guy in Maine (who makes trips down to Mass. on occasion) who stitches up custom seats. He has been reasonable (beating Sewfines prices), on the custom set for my 67 custom. I had him use marine grade pleather (in lipstick red), and he stitched up front and rear seat covers w/hidden stitches. Also continued the hidden stitch theme (3 rows) onto the door panels. Oh, and he used real black leather piping on the seats and door panels. Quality is on par with Sewfine, and I even got a matching perforated headliner in same red pleather. AND he came down and installed it for me ! Like I said, very reasonably. Let me know if I can attach some pics to this site. I will send some pics of my interior (work in progress). THANKS-Bruce
@vwsmiths Lenny from west coast classics is even more. He gets a min. of 1300.00 for just seats and door panels, his headliner is 400.00. Cloth upholstery he sells is over 2k. Would love to see the work you had done. email em to me.
